MCIA's June figures showed another positive month for the UK market. The overall L-Category market grew 13% compared with June 2025 with motorcycle registrations up 14.5%.
Adventure registrations increased 20.2% in the month and were 23.8% higher year to date. Modern Classic grew 23.1% in June and Road Sport was 22.4% ahead of the same month in 2025.
The figures reinforce why category-level data should sit alongside campaign data. An expanding segment creates opportunity, but the useful marketing question is what riders within that segment are researching, comparing and asking now.
Digitally Charged view“Adventure is a category, not a single customer. The useful work starts when we understand what kind of riding the customer wants the motorcycle to do.”
Adventure remains one of the most commercially important categories because it spans different types of rider and use. Touring, commuting, two-up riding and aspirational leisure use can all sit within the same broad segment, which means audience planning needs more detail than the category label alone.
Strong registration performance can also increase competition for attention. Brands need to distinguish model strengths clearly and connect creative with the questions riders are actually asking about comfort, range, luggage, technology, finance and ownership.
Digitally Charged combines market movement with digital intent signals to understand which parts of the category are creating opportunity. That can inform media weighting, content, dealer activity and model-level retargeting.
